Discovering Disney Cruises

Our next big trip is a Disney Cruise to Bermuda, Tortola, and San Juan on a repositioning cruise. Less than a month before the final payment, my excitement is growing for my(current) favorite way to experience the mouse and all the Disney magic. My family will sail aboard the beautiful Disney Dream from NYC in November. For today's blog post, I want to discuss why I love cruising and, in particular, why I love sailing with sailors Mickey and Minnie!

The November cruise will be my first repositioning cruise ever. I had repeatedly booked this similar sailing a few years back but had yet to make the trips. The unique feature of this sailing is that it is a one-way sailing, so on the last port of call, we disembark and fly back home. The value of this Disney sailing is in the repositioning pricing, meeting my budget, and my family's scheduling needs. If you are in New Jersey, you will see this sailing occurs during what we school parents refer to as Jersey Week, where the students get several days off during the school week. This sailing is also popular with other northeast states as people begin their holiday travel season. Cruising is distinct from different types of vacations; cruising becomes all about traveling. Even if you think cruising is not for you, here might be reasons to reconsider cruising and try Disney Cruises.

As you travel from port to port on a cruise, you'll experience several things other tourists don't get to experience while they travel from place to place. While you fly or drive to different destinations, you can have a meal or snack, watch a movie, or read a book, but can you also attend a Broadway-type show created by Disney while in transit to your next destination? Can you tunnel down the AquaDuck while driving the minivan or have a five-course meal on a plane? Speaking of desitnations.

The number of ports or destinations you can visit during a cruise is often plentiful for any sailing you want to consider. One of the most exciting destinations for Disney is its private island, Castaway Cay. Although this sailing we have booked doesn't include a stop there, the island in the Bahamas has many activities, and many are free. I truly enjoy the magic of Disney because I am a child at heart. I enjoy the movies by the pool and the character meetings, but there is also attention to the childless traveler on Disney. Nothing demonstrates Disney's commitment to having relaxing areas for adults is evident with Serenity Bay on Castaway Cay, Senses Spa, and other adult areas.

The amenities of a Disney cruise are magical in a way only Disney can provide. The premise of all-inclusive varies from cruise line to cruise line; it is nice that Disney includes basic drinks in their pricing because kids and kids at heart love fountain beverages.
