Activities Aboard the Disney Dream

Vacations and holidays are a great way to get away from the outside world and focus on each relationship you have within your family. I spent time with my sister on my recent Disney Dream cruise, enjoying various Disney activities aboard the ship.

On Day Two of the cruise, we sought more active activities. One of my favorite things to do on a cruise is to chill out. The Dream has the Cove pool area, a tranquil oasis to relax in by the whirlpools or deck side chairs with a cool beverage. We wanted to avoid overwhelming ourselves with a workout in the fitness center. The fitness center is an area I'll not be able to blog about since I did not visit it. So, my sister and I headed to the District on the ship to meet new friends by partaking in a drawing and crafts activity.

We grabbed our small pencils and drinks and found a spot among the crowd to try our hand at sketching a Disney character. Disney staff not only instruct you but also engage you in the creation of your art. A historical video about Walt Disney and the start of his animation begins the class. The whole process from start to finish was a half hour or less. We had a few laughs with our drawing neighbors. They even had other activities nearby should someone in your party want to check out those.

After our sketching class, we were feeling Goofy, so we headed to try our hand at another type of class.

This time, we found ourselves at the bar in the District Lounge, where the staff was starting an origami art class. We got two drinks of the day and took seats among our fellow cruisers. The area on the ship was much smaller, so we got seats right up front. Again, instruction was short, and the staff members were encouraging and entertaining.

We finished Day Two on the Disney Dream with an awesome dinner at Animator's Palace, an apt place to dine after the day's activities. There was various entertainment for all ages because Disney caters to families of all ages and diversities. To see a clip of our participation on Day Two, visit our YouTube channel.
