Let Me Reintroduce Myself
Do you ever get so excited about your future life? I was so excited that I took the first step to owning my travel advising business that I didn't take the time to tell you more about how and why I started down this path to travel advising. If you have not yet visited the "About Us" section of the website, I encourage you to read that basic description. This blog post will go more in depth about my journey to becoming a travel advisor and my upcoming training for my franchise.
Do you believe in the zodiac? I try not to put too much weight into the musing of the zodiac, but one thing that I cannot deny is that I have many traits of a Capricorn- ambitious, hardworking, honest, direct, and sensitive. Or you don't like the zodiac? I'm also a second-born child with many middle-child personality traits. We are open to experiences, diplomatic, and nurturing. So it is no wonder I have taken on many adventures regarding my learning, professional and personal growth. Remember to read my bio on the website. In some ways, I am a failure because only some of my past adventures appear on my bio and resume like that uncompleted Ph.D. doesn't appear. However, I will keep my past attempts to succeed in life close to my heart as a motivating factor for the best next step for me- advising my friends and family to grow their travel dreams!
I've been making moves, learning, and growing over the years without stopping to assess what my life is trying to tell me broadly. However, ever since I took my first family trip to New Jersey with my grandparents, I have loved to travel. It is funny how I now live in New Jersey, and I'm having this major revelation about my relationship with travel and the excitement I feel when planning or on a trip. College? I traveled with the women's college basketball team (and we won our division championship)! Young adulthood? I wrote several essays at the beginning of my career to earn travel to different work conferences. However, the most impactful travel experience was my first deployment for disaster response. Since then, I've focused on securing a position to do more disaster work. When I obtained the position (of what I thought was my dream job), I traveled for seven weeks in response to a disaster. It wasn't enough! I want more, and I want more people to grow to love travel and find it accessible.
So I got so excited when it dawned on me that I should stop overstepping with my husband's business and take on my own business and franchise adventure. I barely paid my franchise fee before I had a website and ideas for blogs and vlogs. So why "Grow Your Travel Dreams" as a motto? Because before I came to the accumulation of my life experiences, I began building a consulting business more aligned with my educational background and career experiences. My franchise has some limitations to the motto I can use, and I may need a significant rehaul on my webpage to incorporate the franchise components. But I'm so excited about this new chapter in my life! I always advise people to do what they love.
This week I've been busy completing the phase one franchise training. It consists of about a week's worth of online modules. You certainly can't take the training in one sitting. I'm learning about the franchise backend office functions mainly. Next week, I fly into Fort Lauderdale for the in-person training portion, and I'll stay in Florida for the week, hearing many company and vendor presentations. I am most excited about our class's ship tour on one of the giant ships. The franchise has been pleasant to work with, delivering materials as promised, securing my accommodations at the Mariott, and even accommodating my meal sensitivity at lunch with a Thai Chicken bowl instead of lasagna. Alright, alright! After that, I should be official. I'll be marketing and can advise you on how to grow your travel. But, more importantly, I'll put my hardworking attitude with cringy hip-hop references to delivering relevant travel tips, products and booking the trips of your dreams! Follow us on social media for our official franchise launch.
